When an applicant applies for a new connection in UP (Uttar Pradesh) then how much connection charges have to be deposited by the applicant for a new domestic connection is depends on the load (sanction load ) for which connection is applied for. also, new electricity connection charges in UP depend on the type of electricity use(tariff) used like domestic, commercial, industrials.
What cost has to be deposited by the consumers are as follow-
1- Processing fees
2- Security charge
3- Line charge or labor charge
4- Meter cost
Processing Fees-
when any department work is to be initiated then first of all applicant has to deposit processing fees. In a new connection also applicant has to deposit processing fees to initiate the process.
Security deposit (SD)
security fees have to be deposited by the applicant. this amount is refundable during permanent disconnection(PD)of the connection. this amount is an average two-month bill of electricity consumption.
Line Charges & Labor charge
Line charges include cost material that would be used in the construction of the line and labor charges provided by the department. the department shall erect additional poles and charges shall be recovered from consumers under variable line charges for additional lengths beyond 40 meters. since connection beyond 40 meters shall not be given by the department.
Meter Cost
During electricity connection meter cost has to be borne by the applicant and that meter will be provided by the electricity department. but cable shall be given by the applicant.

सर मैं प्रयागराज का रहने वाला हूं मैंने prayagraj मे एक घर खरीदा है अब मुझे बिजली का नया कनेक्शन लेना है मैं बिजली ऑफिस गया और जेई से मिला JE ने कहा कि बिजली के खंभे से अगर आपके घर की दूरी 40 मीटर से ज्यादा दूर है तो स्टीमेट बनेगा और उसका खर्चा आपको खुद वहन करना होगा मानो अगर 3 खंभे लगते हैं तो करीब 70 से 80 हजार रुपए मुझे देने पड़ेंगे. बिजली के कनेक्शन लेने का सरकारी चार्ज ₹2200 के आसपास है जबकि मेरे गली में 10 से 15 घरों का कनेक्शन ऑलरेडी किया हुआ है अगर यह सरकार का रूल है कि 40 मीटर से ज्यादा की दूरी में कनेक्शन नहीं दिया जा सकता है तो इन लोगों कनेक्शन कैसे दे दिया गया? और खंभे क्यों नहीं लगे जब की पूरी गली में (individual) तार का जाल बिछा हुआ है जो कि कभी भी दुर्घटना का पर्याय बन सकता है लोगों ने कहा किसी ने 8000 किसी ने 10000 देकर के 100-120 मीटर दूर से कनेक्शन करवाया था मैंने भी सोचा कि कनेक्शन करवा लूं। JE से बात करो तो estimate की बात करता है बिजली ऑफिस के ही दूसरे कुछ लोग साइड में ले जाकर बोलते हैं कि 15000 दो तो कनेक्शन लगवा देते हैं। 2000 के कनेक्शन के लिए 15 से 18000 रुपए घूस मांग रहे हैं क्या इसमें आप मेरी कोई सहायता कर सकते हैं मैं ब्रिब्क्याए नही देश चाहता। मैंने JE से argument किया की मैं मैं घूस नही दूंगा तो उसने कहा की अब तो मैं आपको connecton नही दूंगा आप online apply कीजिये आपका estimate बनेगा।

Yes, if the connection is issued on LT(metering on lt) then the transformer will belong to the department. another connection can be released from that transformer. it is true you can not deny to take connection from that transformer. and you have to deposit whole cost of transformer.

The nearest pole is just 3 meters but the uppcl authority denying to give connection from this pole. The ulternet supply from 11 kva lines by installing 25 kva transformer which is about 10 meters from my house. They have made estimate of Rs 206353.00. Is it justified. Kindly advise.

yes, additional security deposit(ASD) has to be deposited. Security deposit is basically an average of 6-month bill.
I have applied for 20KW new connection for industrial purpose, 100 KW transformer is installed near to 30 meter distance and domestic supply is running through this transformer to village ( Load on transformer near about 60KW).

yes upto 50 kw connection can be given by the existing transformer, if the transformer is under load. but better is to go for new own transformer.

After applying on jhatpat, the man came for inspection is asking for 80k just for transformer setup alone of 10kva I guess. And we have to bear the cost alone right now as other residents are not willing to pay yet. Is the cost correct and what should be done?
