As we know the main charges are imposed in the bill in a domestic mode in Uttar Pradesh.
This charge is the charge for the unit spent by the consumer. That is, the energy which is used by the domestic consumer to run the appliances of the house is called energy charge. The energy charge rate is different for different categories of consumers. The energy charge is calculated by multiplying the energy consumed by the tariff rate. While calculating the energy charge, the rate slab of the units which are spent remains different. For example, up to 100 units is 3.35 rupees, From 100 to 150 units it is Rs 3.85, from 150 to 300 units it is Rs 5 per unit. The above calculator has been made using the same rate slab of Uttar Pradesh UPPCL.
Energy charge= unit consumed* tariff rate
The fixed charge is taken as per the connection load of the consumer and the demand of the meter. If the maximum demand sanction is more than 75% of the load, then
Fixed Charge = Sanction Load * Rate ( in KW )
Example- Fixed charge = 2KW * 90(Per KW) = Rs.180
In case the demand sanction on the meter is less than 75% of the load, then
Fixed Charge = 1.5 ( 75% OF 2KW)*90 = Rs.135
Fixed Charge Electricity Department charges the consumers as a kind of fare. Which is charged in lieu of keeping the connection in the electricity department. Even if a consumer does not spend any unit in a month, the department takes a fixed charge for maintaining the connection.
Electricity Duty is a type of tax that is collected by the Electricity Department in the form of Service Tax. The rate of tax is determined by the Central Government. Electricity duty in domestic connection is charged on the addition of 5% energy charge and fixed charge.
Electricity Duty= 5% ( energy charge+ fixed charge)
